Apple Releases $899 Dongle That Connects to Other Dongles

CUPERTINO — Apple today announced the iConnect Pro Max, a $899 adapter that exclusively connects previously purchased Apple dongles to one another, calling it “the most courageous dongle we’ve ever made.”

“We heard customers loud and clear: they have too many dongles,” said VP of Hardware Engineering John Ternus at a keynote where he connected seven separate adapters to display a single slide. “So we created the ultimate solution — a premium dongle that unifies your dongle ecosystem.”

The aerospace-grade aluminum device features a USB-C port that connects to the $79 USB-C to Lightning adapter, which connects to the $39 Lightning to headphone jack adapter, which connects to the $29 USB-A adapter, which finally connects to your 2015 flash drive.

Apple emphasized that the iConnect Pro Max represents a “breakthrough in courage” and enables a “truly wireless dongle experience” by eliminating the need to remember which dongle does what. Now users simply need to remember the correct sequence of dongles.

The device ships without a charging cable (“to reduce environmental impact”) and requires a separate $149 iConnect Pro Max Charging Brick sold exclusively online. Early reviewers note it’s incompatible with last year’s iConnect Pro, which is now considered “vintage” despite being 11 months old.

Tech analysts praised Apple’s innovative approach to creating problems that only Apple accessories can solve. “It’s elegant,” noted one reviewer clutching $2,400 worth of adapters. “Before, I had cable chaos. Now I have organized, expensive cable chaos.”

The announcement included a cinematic video showing dongles connecting in slow motion to Radiohead’s “Everything In Its Right Place” while Jony Ive’s ghost whispered “unibody construction” from beyond.

At press time, the iConnect Pro Max was already backordered until 2027, and Apple had filed patents for seventeen additional dongle-related revenue streams.
